Board of Directors Meeting
October 28, 2002
Meeting was called to order at 7:15 PM.

Previous Minutes: Mike O. motion to approve previous minutes, Kim 2nd, motion passed with 1 abstention.
BOARD REPORTS-
President _ There was an incident were a girl felt she was sexually harassed, and Jim Stimple asked how it is classified and how do we handle. We suggested that the boys make a formal apology to the girl, from the U19 coed team. Dennis motion that we support Jim to write to Rincon Valley and request a formal apology to the girl for the comments. Mike A. 2nd, motion passed. Annadel will be told that we talked to the coach and observed and felt it was an isolated incident.

Registrar/Scholarships _ Absent
SRYSL Reps _ 1) A gentleman came to the meeting with a proposal to put together a committee for sportsmanship. For people to go out and observe games, and try to figure out what can be worked on to better the experience on the playing field for the kids. Suggestion was made to have U6-10 coaches take the ref course to get better knowledge of the rules of the game, and ref at least 3 games during the season to get experience and understanding. 2) Slide tackling ruling for the U10's needs to be clarified. Some clubs allow and others don't. Recommendation was made that no slide tackling at the rec level, or for all clubs to allow, but that all clubs be uniformed in the rule. 3) The Santa Rosa Recreations Dept is requesting $2 per player for the field trust fund.
Equipment Coordinator _ All age group coord need to not give out trophies and/or pictures until uniforms are turned in. Once all is collected, return to Mike Otten and he will get to storage.
Field Coordinator _ All fields were painted last weekend for the last time.
Ways and Means _ No report
Merchandise - More merchandise was sold at the City Cup and there isn't much left.
Referee Coordinator _ No report
