Board of Directors Meeting

June 24, 2002

            Meeting was called to order at 7:15 PM.

Present

Officers:             Bob Anderson, Angie Walling, & Tony Pellegrini

Members:          Mike Adams, Brigitte Rocca, John Pell, Nick Mobley, Mike Hernandez, Skip Gray, Kim August and Mike Otten

Absent:             Dennis Wilkinson Mia Barlett, Jim Bartlett, Richard Vives,

Guest:              Tess Adams and Andy Howard – Andy was there to make a request that all teams are made as equally as possible by talent.

 

Previous Minutes:            Kim motion to approve previous minutes, Skip 2nd, motion passed.

BOARD REPORTS-

President – 1) A permit for Piner High School field was approved. 2) We will have a permit for Shoffett field, part of Unity ball field, as of Aug. 1.  There will be a dedication ceremony on Aug. 15.  We will have use of fields for limited practices, and they may hold off on use for games. 3) There is talk of putting a field in at Monroe Elementary.  It is currently used by United, but we will try to get it. 4) United would like to schedule games on the rec level fields, but in a block style.  They would like to use a pool of refs, i.e. all games at Comstock would be our refs on all games on that field, even if one of our teams weren’t the home team.

Vice-President – No report

Secretary/Treasurer -            Will be on vacation from June 25 – 28 and July 13 -28.

Registrar/Scholarships – The U16 boys class III team is now a class IV team, due to lack of talent and player commitment.  Skip motion to approve the play-up of Drew Weinstein from U10 to U12, motion passed.

SRYSL Reps – 1) Coed now has a no 5 touch rule and females will take all penalty shots. 2)  Empire Waste may be donating all port-o-potties for the league at all fields.

Equipment Coordinator – Cones, balls, and bags are all sorted and ready to go out to coaches.  New game ball is marked and 1 is in each bag.  There are new corner flags, and we are giving all old balls to the elementary schools in our club.

Coaching Coordinator – Meeting is on July 18 at Schaefer.  F course will be held at Schaefer on Sat., 6-29 from 8 AM to 4 PM.

NEW BUSINESS:

1 – Donation to United Heat – They are requesting money for the Far Western Regional.  Mike H. motion to fulfill the request for a donation in the amount of $100 to the United Heat, Skip 2nd, motion not passed.

2 – Piner field- Bob will negotiate with Piner and the Booster to find out what they need and see how we might be able to help.

 

Good of the Game – Brazil is still going!!  USA made it to the 8th round!!!

Good of the Game _ Santa Rosa United U13 Boys did well in a tournament in San Francisco. They ended up winning in the bracket that they were in.
